In the News…November 2025

Gratitude, Growth, and Great Things Ahead

By Adam Tromblay, CEO/General Manager

As we move into November, there’s plenty to be thankful for here at Nobles Cooperative Electric — from system upgrades to exciting local projects and, most importantly, our members.

A New Era of Reliability

Our new Slayton Substation is set to energize this month! Think of it as upgrading from vintage technology to 2025 standards — a bigger, better, and more reliable system to serve our area. This investment ensures stronger, more efficient power delivery for years to come.

Supporting Growth and Innovation

One of the most exciting developments on the horizon is the Geronimo Power Nobles County Data Center project.
Change can sometimes feel uncertain, but at Nobles Cooperative Electric, we always look at the big picture. Every decision we make keeps your costs and your future needs in mind.

Nobles Cooperative Electric has some of the lowest electric rates compared to all of the other Minnesota electrical cooperatives. That’s something we’re very proud of! Your board of directors and staff work hard to manage costs responsibly because, like you, we’re members too. We understand how important affordability is.

A Reminder for Members

Before we head into winter, take a moment to look around your property. As the trees lose their leaves, it’s easier to spot branches near power lines.
If you notice trees growing close, please don’t trim them yourself. We partner with Carr’s Tree Service to safely manage vegetation near our electrical lines. If you have any questions or concerns, give our office a call — our team will be glad to evaluate your situation.

Thankful for Our Members and Team

As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to extend my appreciation to our members, employees, and board for their continued dedication to cooperative values. Our team will be taking a couple of days off for the holiday weekend. Linemen will remain on call, but we hope they — and you — get to enjoy time with family, friends, and plenty of good food.

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Geronimo Power Data Center Project

We’re fully committed in supporting the Geronimo Power Data Center project — an exciting development that represents a major investment right here in southwest Minnesota. This project will bring new economic opportunities, support local jobs, and help strengthen our region’s energy future. Even better, the power produced here will stay here, supporting the homes, farms, and businesses that make our communities thrive.

The Geronimo Power team remains active and engaged, attending local meetings and visiting with community members, businesses, and individuals who have questions about the project.
