Ever have your power blink and wonder if you somehow missed a storm? Or maybe there's an equipment problem somewhere? Well, sometimes there's a much bigger reason… like a HOUSE coming down the road! 😄 Today, our linemen helped a house make its 60-mile journey from Iona toward Minneota, moving power lines along the route and getting it safely through our territory before handing things off to the next electric utility. The coordination between the house movers and line crews is almost like a well-choreographed dance. Everyone knows their part, and the whole process looks remarkably seamless. But don't let how easy they make it look fool you. Working around power lines is serious, potentially dangerous work that leaves little room for error. It takes experience, careful planning, constant communication, and a whole lot of teamwork to make it look that easy! These moves are planned well in advance, and we do our best to notify affected members ahead of time. Our crews work to keep power interruptions as short as possible while making sure safety always comes first. So, the next time your power blinks, don't automatically blame Mother Nature or faulty equipment. Sometimes we're just helping someone move… their entire house! It's one of those behind-the-scenes jobs most people never get to see, but it's a pretty cool reminder of just how much our linemen do. To them, it's all in a day's work. To the rest of us, it's pretty impressive!

We're excited to announce our THIRD and FINAL Grab ’n Go Photo Contest winner — Max Slater! Max and his family will receive a $50 electric bill credit! We absolutely love this photo! We know that sitting down together for supper isn't always easy. Sometimes family dinner happens in the field, on a tailgate, or wherever the work takes you! That's one of the things we love most about our Grab ’n Go events. During National Co-op Month, we get to do the cooking so our members can take a little break, enjoy a good meal, and spend some time together. After all, being a cooperative is about more than providing electricity. It's about the people and families we serve and the communities we're proud to call home. Congratulations, Max! And a big thank-you to everyone who shared their photos with us. We enjoyed seeing all the different ways our members enjoyed Grab ’n Go this year!
