Trees grow. Problems don't have to. Summer is a great time to take a quick look around your property. As trees fill out with leaves, branches can quietly grow closer to power lines. If you notice a tree or large limb getting too close to one of our lines, please give us a call at 800-776-0517 (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.). Our line crews will take a look and determine if trimming or other maintenance is needed. With thousands of miles of line across our service territory, we appreciate your extra set of eyes. Reporting a potential problem today can help prevent outages tomorrow. A few minutes looking up today could help keep the lights on tomorrow
The city of Ellsworth experienced a brief but powerful windstorm last night, leaving several members without power after trees came down on power lines. A big thank you to the Ellsworth first responders for helping secure the area and keep the streets safe while our line crews worked to restore power. It was a long night for everyone, but moments like these remind us how strong small-town communities are when neighbors and first responders work together. A friendly reminder: If you ever see a downed power line, stay far away and always assume it is energized. Never approach or attempt to move it. Report it immediately and let trained crews handle it.
