Your Voice Matters: Join Voices for Cooperative Power

Every day, decisions are made in St. Paul and Washington, D.C. that affect how electricity is generated, delivered, and regulated. Those decisions influence everything from the reliability of the electric grid to the long-term cost of providing power to homes, farms, businesses, schools, and rural communities.

At Nobles Cooperative Electric, we believe those decisions should include the voices of the people they affect most—our members.

That's why we're encouraging members to learn more about Voices for Cooperative Power (VCP).

What is Voices for Cooperative Power?

Voices for Cooperative Power is a grassroots network of electric cooperative members who want to stay informed about energy issues affecting rural Minnesota and have opportunities to share their perspectives with elected officials when important issues arise.

Joining VCP doesn't mean committing to political activity or receiving endless emails. It simply gives you the opportunity to stay informed and decide for yourself when you'd like to make your voice heard.

Why does it matter?

Electric cooperatives are different because they're owned by the members they serve—not outside investors.

That means the people who depend on reliable electricity every day have valuable insight into how energy policies affect rural communities. Whether it's keeping electricity affordable, maintaining a reliable electric grid, or investing in infrastructure, your experiences help lawmakers understand the real-world impact of their decisions.

When cooperative members speak together, policymakers hear directly from the people who live, work, and raise families in rural communities.

Why join Voices for Cooperative Power?

As a member of VCP, you'll have opportunities to:

  • Stay informed about energy issues affecting electric cooperatives.
  • Learn how proposed legislation may impact rural communities.
  • Share your perspective with state and federal lawmakers when important issues arise.
  • Help advocate for reliable electricity, affordable rates, and strong rural communities.

Participation is always your choice. You decide when—and if—you want to take action.

Working Together for Rural Minnesota

For decades, electric cooperatives have been built on the idea that local voices matter. By working together, cooperative members have helped ensure rural communities continue to have access to safe, reliable, and affordable electricity.

That cooperative spirit remains just as important today.
