In 2022, the business entered a new chapter when Thomas Salentiny purchased the Feed Shak from Lloyd Winter, continuing its strong foundation, while bringing new ideas and expanded services to the operation.

A Move Designed to Better Serve Customers

Shortly after the ownership transition, Thomas recognized an opportunity to better serve customers by relocating to a new site along Highway 59. The move provided a larger storefront, increased visibility, and improved accessibility in a higher-traffic area. The additional space allowed for expanded pallet racking and the ability to stock a wider variety of products, giving customers more options under one roof.

Products, Services, and a Hands-On Team

Today, the Feed Shak employs three full-time team members and remains focused on personal, hands-on service. The Feed Shak carries feed for cattle, pets, chickens, goats, sheep, and show animals, along with minerals, salt blocks, and medicated feed options. You’ll also find waterers, heat lamps, and feed for wild game, along with hay, straw, and a variety of bedding options. And if you’re looking for something specific and don’t see it on the shelf, just ask — the team is always happy to help track it down or point you in the right direction. As a full-service farm and feed store, they even offer farm-fresh eggs.

Convenient Delivery Options

One of the Feed Shak’s most appreciated services is delivery. With a box truck available (call for service and availability), they help customers save time and trips while offering peace of mind knowing essential items will be there when they’re needed. Water softener salt is one of their biggest sellers, and delivery makes it even more convenient. Customers can schedule salt delivery and easily add pet food or other supplies to the order, turning one stop into a complete solution.

Extras for Pet Owners

Pet owners will also find thoughtful extras, including pet-friendly ice melt and an on-site dog wash, accessible by setting up an account. These added services reflect the Feed Shak’s commitment to meeting everyday needs — not just selling farm products.
