Spring/Summer 2026 Operation Round Up Grant Recipients

Nobles Cooperative Electric is proud to announce the recipients of the Spring/Summer 2026 Operation Round Up grants. Thanks to the generosity of cooperative members who participate in the Operation Round Up program, more than $22,000 will be reinvested into local communities throughout southwest Minnesota.

Operation Round Up allows members to voluntarily round up their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar. Those small monthly contributions are pooled together and distributed through grants that support local schools, youth programs, emergency services, nonprofit organizations, historical preservation efforts, and many other community-focused projects.

Youth Programs & Schools

Buffalo Ridge Young Marines — $1,000
Funds will help offset program costs and ensure participation remains accessible and affordable for low-income families.

Fulda Elementary PBIS — $870
Funding will support transportation costs for the school’s PBIS end-of-the-year celebration.

Fulda/MCC Youth Wrestling — $840
Funds will be used to purchase new warmups for youth wrestlers.

MCJO Volleyball — $500
Grant funds will help purchase portable ball carts and blocking boxes for drills and training.

Murray County Central Football Program — $1,000
Funds will assist with replacing football jerseys.

MCC Little Rebels Preschool — $960
Support for classroom supplies and curriculum materials for preschool students.

Murray County Central Schools — $2,500
Funds will help replace AED units at the school.

Murray County Early Childhood — $2,000
Grant funds will support the purchase of Roth ID tags for children who are non-verbal or semi-verbal.

SWWC — $1,000
Funding supports the Student Enrichment Program, including presenters, supplies, travel, and event-related expenses.

Emergency Services & Safety

Leota First Responders — $1,500
Funds will help replace emergency response equipment and medical supplies.

Slayton Fire Department — $2,100
Funding will assist with adding additional storage tanks to the department’s current system.

SW Crisis Center — $870
Grant dollars will provide direct client assistance for emergency housing, food, medication, clothing, and personal items.

Community & Nonprofit Organizations

Cultural Awareness Foundation — $520
Funds will support children’s activities including games, art, and educational experiences.

Helping Hand Pregnancy Center — $920
Funding will strengthen youth education initiatives focused on healthy relationships and self-esteem.

Nobles County Toys for Tots — $900
Grant funds will help purchase toys for children throughout the area.

Historical & Community Preservation

Murray County Historical Society — $636
Funding will help purchase temperature and humidity monitoring equipment for preservation storage areas.

Nobles County Historical Society — $250
Grant funds will support the purchase of storage components for the Heritage Center Community Room.

Quilting & Community Care Groups

Chandler Area Quilters — $350
Funds will help purchase batting, sheets, and blankets for quilting projects.

Christ Lutheran Church Sewers — $350
Funding supports materials used to make warm and comforting quilts.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church — $350
Grant dollars will help provide quilts and emergency assistance items to the community.

Immanuel Lutheran Quilters — $350
Funds will be used to purchase fabric and batting for quilts made for those in need.

Lake Sarah Quilters — $350
Funding supports batting and fabric used in prayer quilts.

Community Enhancement

Ecumen Meadows — $1,400
Funds will help refresh the outdoor courtyard space with raised garden beds, trellises, and a flagpole.

Slayton Youth Baseball & Softball — $1,300
Grant funds will be used to update safety and training equipment for local youth athletes.

Operation Round Up is funded by members who voluntarily round up their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar. Those small contributions make a big difference in supporting local communities, schools, organizations, and programs throughout southwest Minnesota.

The next round of Operation Round Up applications is due September 1, 2026. Local organizations are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this opportunity.
