Represents Nobles Cooperative Electric on the 2025 Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.
Each year, Nobles Cooperative Electric selects one local high school student through a competitive application and interview process to attend the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C.—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about our nation's history, government, and the role of electric cooperatives.
This year, Ava Reemtsma was chosen to represent Nobles Cooperative Electric, joining 29 other students from across Minnesota and hundreds more from across the nation for an unforgettable week in the Capital.
After weather delays and a last-minute airport speech for the chance to be elected Minnesota's Youth Leadership Council representative, Ava dove headfirst into the experience. Her itinerary included visits to the WWII, Martin Luther King Jr., Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Jefferson Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, Georgetown, and the U.S. Marine Corps Sunset Parade. She even had the opportunity to tour the U.S. Capitol Building and meet with Minnesota Senators Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar!
Rain or shine (yes, they were absolutely soaked in their dress clothes on their day at the Capitol Building), Ava and her new friends made the most of every moment.
A reminder to local students: applications for the 2026 Youth Tour are due in Feburary.
